For example, during the build, you must specify the exact location of the built application, as well as the name of the application. In order to run the app, the requirements must be met. It is for this reason that you cannot rename VirtualBox.app, or relocate VirtualBox-5.2.18.app. “VirtualBox-5.2.18.app” will not work.

You may be getting this error because of a lack of RAM allocation in your virtual machine. If it persists, try allocating more RAM to your new configuration and see if it solves the issue.

I receive the following error message almost every time I launch VBox and attempt to start a virtual machine:

Steps for fixing VirtualBox error starting virtual machines are as follows:

Allot additional RAM for your virtual machine

1. Use Oracle VirtualBox Manager to manage Oracle VM VirtualBox.
2. If you would like to uninstall your virtual machine, select Uninstall from the right-click menu.
3. Click Delete Only in the dialog box that appears.
4. Make sure that the same image is used in the new configuration.
5. If you want to install a virtual machine again, make sure to allocate more memory in the Base Memory section than when you last installed a virtual machine.
6. The virtual machine should be run after the configuration has been created to ensure it is performing well.

Installing the VBoxDrV.inf file

1. The following directory can be found in the file explorer
   This is the directory where the Oracle VirtualBox drivers are installed.
2. Copying and pasting the above path into File Explorer is also an option.
3. VBoxDrv.inf can be installed by right-clicking on it in the VBoxDrv folder.
4. To continue with the installation, click Yes when UAC asks for your confirmation.
5. By pressing the Windows key, you will be taken to the Windows desktop.
6. Choose Run as Administrator from the context menu after typing cmd.
7. The following command must be typed at the command prompt and executed by pressing Enter:
   Start the VBoxDRV service with the following command:

9. The virtual machine can be restarted to see if improvements occur.

Reinstalling VirtualBox

1. In order to fix the error, you need to install the latest Oracle VirtualBox version.
2. You can do this by pressing Windows + R.
3. Control panel can be opened by typing control and clicking OK.
4. To access programs and features, go to Programs.
5. The list of installed applications should include VirtualBox. Select it.
6. Select Uninstall. Confirm your selection by clicking Yes.
7. You can download VirtualBox after you have uninstalled it.
8. Make sure the software is up-to-date by downloading it and installing it.
9. If your computer is not performing as well as it should, reconfigure it.
