It’s a good idea to back up all the games and apps you have downloaded with the Steam Client. Navigate to the Steam directory and find a folder called Steamapps. Move it to the safe folder.
Restart your network devices
- If your modem and router are separate devices, unplug them.
- Make sure the modem (and router) are cooled down for about 60 seconds before using them.
- The lights will return to normal once you reconnect the network devices.
- Your computer needs to be rebooted.
- Check if Steam has fixed the warning error.
Clear DNS
- The Windows logo key on your keyboard should be pressed, then CMD should be typed.
- Choose Run as administrator when Command Prompt appears by right-clicking it.

- You can flush your DNS by entering ipconfig /flushdns.
Change Steam properties
- Display the Task Manager by pressing Esc, Shift, and Ctrl.
- By selecting “Run”, click “Disable” on each item.

- You can select Properties by right-clicking Steam on the desktop.
- In the Target field, type -tcp with a space at the end. Click the OK button to save your shortcut.

Resetting WinSock
- The Windows logo key on your keyboard should be pressed, then CMD should be typed.
- Select Run as administrator by right-clicking the Command Prompt when it appears.
- You can reset a winsock by typing netsh winsock reset at the administrator prompt.
- You’ll need to press Enter and type netsh winteep reset proxy, then hit Enter again.
- The window will close once you click Close.
- Steam should now be running without a server connection error.
Can T Connect To Steam Network
