Fixing the “Origin Online Login Is Currently Unavailable” error

The following error message appears when Origin users attempt to log in to the service: “Internet login is temporarily unavailable.”.

To fix the “Origin Online Login is currently unavailable” error in Windows

Reboot Origin completely.

The issue with online login on Origin must be resolved by restarting the program completely.

1. The Exit Origin option is available when you right-click the Origin icon in the taskbar notification area.
2. You should now be able to log in to your Origin account after reopening it.

Check the date and time on your system

When Origin says “Online connection is unavailable”, it is likely that the date or time is incorrect. If restarting Origin does not resolve the problem, check and correct the date and time.

Windows Preferences also allows you to change the time and date.

2. The Time and Language category can be found under Settings.
3. The Date and Time options can be found on the left side of the window.
4. Verify the time and date on your computer by checking the “Set time automatically” option at the bottom of the right pane.

In that case, you can try logging into Origin again and see if the problem has been resolved.

Resetting Internet Explorer settings

The error “Online login is currently unavailable on Origin” might also be caused by incorrect Internet Explorer settings. Although Internet Explorer may seem like it is consuming a lot of space on your computer, many Internet connection settings are handled by it.

You should now be able to log into Origin online after your PC has restarted. If the error message “Origin online login is currently unavailable” persists, restart your PC and check if the error still persists.

Allow Origin through Windows Defender Firewall

You can solve ‘Can’t connect Origin’ by opening your computer’s firewall and disabling Windows Defender Firewall.

1. The Control Panel can be found there.
2. After that, click the Windows Defender firewall icon. Then choose View by large or small icons.
3. The Windows Defender Firewall allows you to allow applications and features on the left side of the screen.
4. You must give administrator rights to Origin executable. Then, in Private and Public, check the Origin executable.

Check if the error has been fixed by restarting your computer and running Origin.

Unplug your USB device

For the “Origin online connection is currently unavailable”, you can disable your USB device (Realtek USB 2.0, for example).

1. The “Run” window will appear once you press Win + R.
2. The Device Manager can be opened by typing devmgmt.msc and clicking OK.
3. The Universal Serial Bus Controllers can be magnified by double clicking.
4. Select Disconnect Device from the right-click menu of the Realtek USB 2.0 card reader.
