How to Troubleshoot ‘Another Program is Being Installed’ Error Message

• An installer error message usually indicates there’s something wrong with an application being installed.

As antivirus programs are deeply integrated into the Windows OS, uninstalling them cleanly can be quite a challenge. Furthermore, an incomplete uninstallation can potentially cause problems ranging from minor to major. You might find that you get irritating error messages, e.g. if Windows tries to start a program that is no longer installed. Additionally, there is the possibility that the “uninstalled” antivirus might waste significant disk space – up to hundreds of megabytes – by leaving numerous files behind. You might also encounter a more serious problem. For example, some antivirus programs check for the presence of competing antivirus products and refuse to install if any trace of one is found. In such cases, clean uninstallation is mission critical.

The only program I can run today is .exe installations that I have downloaded. I am getting a CRC error message. I don’t have any physical copies. There have been different errors from the different programs, but all of them referred to the CRC.

Restart your computer

Often, restarting your computer will fix problems such as a corrupted registry or virus infection, if all else fails. If you press the power button on your PC and select Restart, you can do that easily. After you turn off your computer, all running programs and services will be shut down, your operating system will reboot, and the applications you opened before will be opened.

Depending on the problem you’re experiencing, rebooting may even fix it. The way your mouse works or installing an unnecessary amount of software might have been changed or installed when you recently installed a program that did something strange to your system. If that did not help, try rebooting.

Scan your computer for viruses

If you want to keep your computer clean, you need a virus scanner. You might think that downloading a program and letting it do its job is enough, but you don’t want to take chances with certain things. In fact, we recommend running an online virus scanner every single day if you don’t know what you’re doing, otherwise you may make matters worse.

1. Windows Defender should be opened.
2. The Virus & Threat Protection tab can be found there.
3. Optionally, click Scan.
4. Click Scan now.
5. The file should be deleted if it contains anything suspicious.
6. Taking a screenshot of the page will help you find what you need.

Stop the installation manually

Rather than closing the installer without completing the installation, try quitting it yourself if you find that the installation has not been completed after a reasonable amount of time.

1. Select Task Manager from the right-click menu on the taskbar.
2. Click on Processes.
3. The installers/EXEs/MSIs process should be selected.
4. On the bottom right of the page, click End task.
5. The installer window has now been safely closed.

Let the installation run its course

You should wait patiently when installing an Android app if you see a progress bar during installation. Most Android apps download and install in about 10 seconds.

Windows Installer Another Program Is Being Installed

If you receive this error, open the Task Manager and select the “Processes” tab. From there, select the “Show processes from all users” box. Kill any processes named msiexec.exe and msiexec32.exe that are running.  

A computer can be installed with node.js in many different ways. Your computer’s command prompt or Windows PowerShell can be used to verify that node.js has been properly installed.

Your phone might start vibrating every few seconds if the app downloads additional files or depends on the internet. It doesn’t mean you’re being called, but rather because it needs to get data from the internet. Don’t worry, most apps don’t do anything until they’re finished loading.

Trying reinstalling the program again after at least 15 minutes if you are still unsure what is happening is a good idea.

Close the Windows Installer process in Task Manager

The installation process must be properly terminated if you do not wish to uninstall the program.

You may wish to restart the installation again after stopping the process (end task). Right-click Start, open Task Manager and navigate to the Details tab. Click on msiexec.exe and end the process (end task).

Following are the steps for uninstalling the program completely:

Click the Uninstall button after selecting the program.

Upon completion of uninstallation, wait a few minutes.

Your PC should be restarted.

The program should be reinstalled.

Make sure third-party applications are disabled before installing

Software programs and drivers are both installed via Windows Installer. You can disable it via Task Manager if you want to keep it from running constantly.

1. Select Open Task Manager from the context menu that appears when you right-click the Taskbar.
2. The processes tab can be found here.
3. Next, click on Services.
4. Click on the Windows Installer Service from the list of installed services.
5. Select Start from the menu.
6. The task manager window will appear when you press Ctrl+Alt+Delto.
7. The Processes tab is located at the bottom of the page.
8. You can end the process by clicking on the End Windows Installer Service button.
9. Changes should be confirmed.
10. Check to see if everything works properly after restarting your computer.
