In addition to being used as safe and efficient storage devices, USB drives are also capable of booting a computer and sometimes causing errors.

What causes the error message “Please insert the last disk in the multi-volume set”?

I have successfully formatted my SD card but when I try to extract the NOOBS file with the built in Windows extractor my computer says “Please insert the last disk of the Multi-Volume set and click OK to continue.” I don’t know what that means or what I have to do to get around it. I tried using 7zip but when I try to unzip it with that program it says it cannot open file NOOBS as archive. I have a Windows 7 laptop. I have been working on this problem for a couple days now. Can somebody suggest something?

There are several types of flash drives, but the most common are rewriteable and detachable. PCs are designed to make use of flash drives because of their technical advantages, such as their reliability, durability, and size.

When using an external drive such as a USB flash drive, you often receive an error message saying “Please insert the last disk.

A format of the drive will remove everything on it, including hidden files, which should solve the problem if you can’t find any .zip files on the USB drive or other external device causing the error.

This error may occur if you have previously inserted an external device or USB flash drive into your Mac computer. In OSX, hidden files are created on FAT32 disks when they are used on a Mac. This error message appears when you connect an external device to your Windows PC, and it is the zip files on the drive that cause it.

Also, if your PC’s USB controller is having problems, you may receive the error message “Please insert the last disk in the multi-volume set”.
