This mission, to be exact. I dropped a quicksave right after initiating the conversation with this guy in the bunker (That is, the bunker filled with Liberty Prime’s nukes.), and it just crashed to desktop. The game just closes its self- seems odd, given most of the crashes I get from Bethesda games are freezes. Tried to restart the game, made it past the menu, but when I load that quicksave it just cuts to desktop again- AND loading an earlier save had similar results.I have a few mods installed:-Homemaker-Infinite Settlement Budget ESP only-Armorsmith Extended v2.75-Place Everywhere (Fallout4 1.4.132 latest)Any know solutions to this? Is it a bad quest? Do the mods have anything to do with it? Is this a new bug or something? Please help!

Restore the game files

  1. Launch Bethesda.net.
  2. To play Fallout 76, click here.
  3. To access Game Options, click the arrow next to it.
  4. You can scan and restore your computer by clicking Scan and Restore.
  5. Await the completion of the process.

Run your game as an administrator

  1. Choose Properties from the right-click menu when the program icon appears on the desktop or in the installation directory.
  2. Choose Compatibility.
  3. Then click OK and select “Run this program as an administrator”.
  4. It should now be possible to run your game without crashing.

Update your device drivers

Your crash problem may be caused by outdated or incorrect device drivers. If that does not solve your crash problem, you should update those drivers.

By holding the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, you can power cycle your Xbox One by unplugging the power cable, then plugging it back in and switching it on by pressing the Xbox button.

With a third-party driver update program, you can update drivers automatically if you lack the time, patience, and skills to update them manually.

Fallout 76 Authentication Failed

Have you experienced this problem as well? After killing a Scorchbeast for a few minutes, the power went out for a moment and now I can’t even open the game again.

As of the latest “Wild Appalachia” update, the game is still very much of a mess. It still crashes regularly, sometimes the entire client crashes back to the dashboard. Sometimes the game won’t load in. Sometimes the character load-in is extremely laggy, stuttery and problematic. If you do manage to get your character loaded in, the shooter basics still don’t work. You can manually aim dead onto enemies and the gun will entirely miss (several times in a row). So, you resort to VATS. VATS sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. You can be literally inches from an enemy and VATS will show a 0% chance of hitting. Yes, it’s STILL that bad.

The following troubleshooting solutions may help if Fallout 76 crashes on your Xbox:

The correct driver can be downloaded and installed without knowing exactly what operating system you have installed. Even if you make a mistake in the installation process, you can easily recover from it.

Switching to another program then back again

Switching between Fallout 76 and another program may also fix the crash issue.

  1. On your keyboard, hold both the Alt and Tab keys while the game loads the world.
  2. To return to the game, click the Fallout 76 button on your taskbar when you hear the game world enter.

Install the latest patch

In addition to the game being patched regularly, Fallout 76 is also updated frequently to fix bugs. You should install these updates and keep the game up-to-date to make sure you don’t run into any issues.
