What causes the Xbox One No Signal HDMI error?

Sometimes a bug in the console’s firmware makes it impossible for the console to override the resolution of the TV, causing the “No Signal” error. You may be able to fix the issue by turning off the Xbox console and deleting any temporary data that may be causing it.

Xbox Screen Is Black

In the first instance, turn off your Xbox One console by pressing and holding the “Xbox” button for at least 10 seconds.

Look to see if the HDMI cable has become loose and press each end firmly into its respective port. If it has become loose, the HDMI cable shouldn’t be connected to your Xbox One console or TV.

The TV may also be connected to the HDMI input instead of the HDMI output, or you may need to repair or replace a faulty HDMI cable.

In addition, it is possible that your Xbox One’s current resolution exceeds the maximum display resolution on your TV or monitor. It will need to be pressed into low-resolution mode before it can be set to its maximum resolution through the settings menu in this case.
