Perform a full system reset on your Xbox One

You can reboot the console by pressing and holding the power button for about 8-10 seconds while it is still on. Once the system has shutdown, press the power button again and the screen will appear green.

There will be no loss of games or data during this process, so you don’t have to worry about that. There is also the option to shut down the console using the old-fashioned method if rebooting with the manual button does not work.

You can find a short guide to turning your Xbox One console off and on here, so you can fix the error code 0x90010108:

Switch off the console, unplug it, wait for about 10 seconds, plug it back in and restart it. Fingers crossed that it resolves the 0x90010108 error code!

Hardware console reset

  1. The manual can be accessed by pressing the Xbox button while the console is turned on.
  2. To find out which console is connected to your account, go to System – Settings – System – Console Info.
  3. To reset the console, select the Reset Console option from the Console Info menu.
  4. Choosing Reset and saving my apps and games on the Reset Console screen will reset the console.
  5. A default reset will begin when you press the X button.
  6. An automatic reboot will then take place on the Xbox One.

Power cycling doesn’t always work, nor does resetting the console working for a long time. If it does, you can try resetting the console later.

In the case of a full reboot, your data will be saved. So, you can keep your apps and games even if the console’s operating system is reset.

Check the status of the Xbox Live service

  1. You can check the status of Xbox Live by visiting the official Xbox Live website.
  2. If there is an issue with the service, the page will also let you know whether your account, social networks, Xbox TV, music, or video app are down.
  3. Assign a normal status to all Xbox Live services.
  4. The outage may last up to 30 minutes, so check every 30 minutes if the outage is long.

It’s possible that the issue is with the server if you’re getting the same error. Check the “X” checkbox in the “Live status” box to confirm it’s not a server issue.
